If he is illegal I wouldn't do anything to help but if he is legal I would sure as hell fix what I messed up. There are quite a few legal Mexicans that can't hardly speak English where my Mom works and they are good as gold and I would hate for something like this to happen to them...

well I went and met the guy this morning so I could get a better look at his truck and see what all needed to be replaced. His truck was a 98 s-10 that had already had the front fender replaced at some time, the paint did not match, the only damage was the fender was pushed in, the door had some scratches on it, that could be buffed out, and the mirror was knocked off. I had planned on just looking at it and waiting until monday when the junk yards are open so I could find a red fender and mirror. Well this guy wanted it fixed right now, so we went to the one junk yard that was open and they did not have a fender, so we went back to where his truck was parked, it just happend to be at a body shop that was owned by his mexican friends, the guy came out and said it would be $600 to fix it, I told him no way, I will find a fender Monday that matches and put it all on for under 200. But he kept saying this was his only car and he needed it fixed, he did not want to drive it with the fender like it was, he must have been illegal because he kept saying the cops would pull him over. I asked if he had a licenses and insurance, he said yes but I kinda doubt he did. Why would you be scared to drive a truck with a scratched front fender?? It was a very strange morning, he did not speak very much english at all. I finally just got pissed and told him I had no idea what he wanted to do so I just pulled out $500 bucks and told him this is what he was getting. I had him sign a release saying that was all he was getting, and he took it after trying to get more money out of me. If he has any sense at all he will knock the dent out and drive it with $500 bucks in his pocket. Oh well $hit happens. Now I just have to figure out what it is going to cost to fix mine.

If he didnt show you his ID and proof of insurance, he doesnt have it. He's illegal. As long as you covered your *** and got him to sign a release, youre all set. Make sure you get pictures and his license plate # just in case something happens down the road.

Some ******* waited 3 years before he decided to do something about me hitting him. I slid up a hill in the snow and tapped his car, I had a Dodge Neon he had a Pontiac Bonneville. Nothing serious, but he wanted thousands to fix somehting I didnt do. We finally settled for $400 cash.
Its better to be safe than sorry.
Good Luck
