Default considering a converter

http://www.circledspecialties.com/Co...s/LS1-278.html

this one specifically, for the price. I would love a billet piece, but $$ is a factor. I am pretty much sold on Circle D from a previous thread, and was wondering if anyone is using this specific converter, and what you like / dislike about it.

Also, can someone chime in with the difference between, a 278mm and a 300mm, (11" and 12")? Other than the obvious size difference, what kind of driving characteristics do they have? Just taking a stab in the dark, the smaller converter will flash to whatever its stall speed is faster than the larger one due to less mass in the converter to get moving, but will adversely affect mileage (same theory as a light weight flywheel)?

I have there 9.5" 4c billet series single disc converter. Its pretty loose lol

Here are some driving characteristics of it for example:

Light throttle:

About half throttle:

Full Throttle:

Of course the converter you want will be considerably tighter than this but its just for example in case you want to upgrade further. That was behind my 5.3l before i put the cam in.

I have a buddy of mine with the converter that you gave a link for and he loves it! He says that its pretty tight and drives just like my old yankTT3000 did.

Sweet. I think I might be alot happier with my cam with that re-tooled TB converter. Either way, I am going to be putting a bigger cam in there, 222/226 or something like that.

I have the same converter it is pretty tight at part throttle. My truck wouldent even spin until I got it. From a dig it helps a lot but the shift extension is where it helped my truck the most.
