Just get double the RAM of whatever the most advanced game you have is and make sure you get a good vid card.

like chingon was saying the bus speed is important no matter how fast your processor the bus speed will ultimately slow it down, also with a fast bus speed you wont need as much memory. I wouldnt get that 119 board. get a board with a faster bus and a 2800+ processor in the long run it will be worth it and save you money.

imagine bus speed as an orifice in a hose if the opening is small (333mhz) you wont have alot of water coming out no matter how much pressure (processor) is on the other side. now you widen the opening (888mhz) and youve got alot more water (information)coming through. this bus speed also means less accessing of other system components like your hard drive which is very very very slow in comparison to everything else.

Well I decided to go with a better mother board so while I was at FRY's I found one that I think will suite my needs better. Its a ABIT VT7 motherboard. specs are: socket 478, VIA PT880Chipset, supports intel pentium 4 processors, supports intel hyper-threading technology, FSB 800/533/400, supports 4 DIMMs Dual DDR400 memory, AGP 8X/4X, 2 SATA 150 RAID 0/1, supports 8 ports USB 2.0, 6 channel Audio with auto audio jack sensing, Optical S/P DIF in/out. And the best part it was only $70. I'm installing it right now.

I found a cpu on pricegrabber.com its a Intel Celeron its a 2.4GHz, 256KB, 533MHz FSB, socket 478. Would this be a good cpu/decent? What is the 256KB advanced transfer cache, is that mean its slow? Also what is the smallest GHz processor I can find that has 800MHz FSB socket 478. The smallest on I've found thats a 800MHz is a 2.4GHz?
