I picked up a butane gas one. It doubles as a torch and is the best thing I have ever used. It heats up in seconds as soon as you click the ignitor.

I bought one. It's not designed to do large jobs, but it does work. For $20, it's OK. I would be pissed if I paid any more than that. I will still use my regular 110 volt iron for most stuff, but the Cold Heat one will have a home on my boat, 'cause ya just never know what tool you may need 20 miles out in the gulf!

It looks like a resistance soldering iron which a lot of hobbyists use but probably a light-duty version of one. Resistance irons flow current through the work and ends of the iron and are not hot all the time like regular ones. I have a Ungar with low and high settings that works well. Those gas ones are good,too.
