Default Cold heat soldering tool

Any one try it out. I was thinking about buying it but wasn't sure if it was some sort of gimmick or not. Does it really work?

My dad picked one up a couple weeks ago, but it's still in the box. I have just been using my plug in iron, as it's smaller and appears easier to handle compared to the bulk of the cold heat product.

I saw them on ebay, they had a little more spec listed in the auction too. I was gonna grab one off ebay, but didn't. I can't remember why exactly, I think maybe it wasn't going to handle my average jobs, somehting like only good to 18agw wire.

Somebody has been watching too many infomercials lately.

Yeah, I think they're only good on very small wires/connections.

My mother-in-law tried one and said it was junk and didn't work well at all. Never tried it myself though.

Your mother-in-law was right. I bought it because it was only $20 so I figured what the hell. I already had a regular soldering gun but just wanted to try it out. Guys, don't buy it...it SUCKS *****! If you want, send me a couple bucks for shipping and you can have it! black_yukon: you live nearby, come and try it

Thanks for your offer Chingon, but after your stunning review, I think I'll pass on it.
