Cheap 3/4 Drop

I bought a kit from truckn-store.com for about $130 it comes with 3" drop springs, 2" drop hangers, and 2" drop shackles. I wanna do this my self. If anyone knows how to install these parts, help me out. Im not so sure how to change the springs. I already did the shackles but not the hangers. The hangers have the type of bolt thats round from the head-how do I take that off?

go buy a copy of the latest issue of sport truck, and get a Haynes manual. that will give you a perfect step by step process to do it. those round "bolts" are actually rivots and need to be cut off. that issue is discussed in Sport Truck mag. Good Luck

Got mine from AIM too. They have screwed up every order I have ever done. 3rd time was the charm. My bussiness goes elswhere. I have a 3/4 drop, but ordered a 2/4. Go figure, but at least the springs were painted. One of the hangers had to be tweeked a little to get the leaf in there. Other than that, at least it has held up good.

I feel for you buying a kit from A.I.M. That is where I got my 2/4 drop. Cheap but you get what you pay for. I have a 2000 long bed standard cab. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" /> The front springs are not even painted, but I guess I can deal with that for now. The first set of leaf spring hangers were for a short bed, the second set had a hole for the leaf spring bolt too small, then I got what I thought was the right set. It actually does not offset the bolt of the leaf spring back away from the trans like the short bed bracket does, I have since modified the short bed bracket to mount to the long bed frame holes. If I did mine again I would take the front lower control arm loose from the back so as not to mess with the upper control arm's ball joints. On the rear, it is staight forward, just a lot of work. Drill out the rivets or if you have acess use an air chiesel. Also, the gas tank has to come out (more work). The shackles are easy. I would not disconect the shocks. I did the shackles first with the front of the leaf still together, then after finishing the shackles, do the front. Use lots of care and jack stands when working with the axle. Good Luck!
