Default Cancel the door ding mod? WTF?

I followed it exactly pulled the last connector on the BCM and cut the green wire, put everything back and it still dings when I start the truck, also when I opened the door with the key still in. Did I do something wrong? Is it different for 03 Sierras?

Ok got it. The green wire is for the door. The other chime is for the seatbelt. I grabbed the side of my seat and pried off the little connector from the seat then unplugged the harness and tucked it back where it was just unconnected. No more chime. Praise Jesus. It was so freakin loud!

I've been looking for instructions but couldn't find any. Anyone have details on how to do this.

haven't checked on the new truck yet. but on my blazer you could pull the dash panel off and just unplug the box that chimes. Way better than cutting things.

That doesn't work on the new trucks. The chimes are controled by the bcm and put out through the stereo speakers.

Sorry I can't help on getting rid of them other than I heard getting rid of the stock stereo without using a special adaptor will stop the chiming.

Can this be done on an 02 gmc? Link to the instructions you followed 03GMC?

Mine is a 99 I don't think it comes out of the speakers. I'll have to take the dash apart when I get some time.

Mine has an aftermarket stereo and doesn't chime. so you could just change stereo's.
On second thought it also has after market speakers, so they may have ran different wires to the speakers which would definitely by-pass the chiming mechanism.

I think it's a model year thing. Looks like 2003-up wire it through the stereo. On mine the chime is actually in the bcm...
