Can someone tell me why my 05HD doesn't have E-fans?

Default Can someone tell me why my 05HD doesn't have E-fans?

I'm guessing because it's an HD but I thought the E-fans went across the board.

Can anyone shed some light?

Also no rear drums, just HUGE discs...........?????

Probably because the clutch fan can pull alot more air when things get really hot, like heavy towing.

that's what I was thinking too, I was hoping GM would have engineered HD type E-fans as well. Maybe just the wrong application. Do all the other HD truck mfg's use the clutch fan too?

he's right. the old clutch style is much more reliable and can pull in alot more air. i think all company's making 8600gvw and larger trucks use clutch type fans.

will the 05 PCM on my HD accept the E-fans? i.e. with the parts bought from GM and a Tech2 program change?
