Sorry William. I'll check my schedule and see if there is a chance I can help next weekend. Where do you live?

If you plan on doing the install then, do the valve covers, and crank pulley, and whatever else you can earlier this week. What about your injectors?

I have ordered the 8.1L injectors and they will be here on Monday!! I will put them in sometime this week and I also ordered that missing EGR valve block from Whipple and it will be here on Thursday. My truck is down right now though cause the tube that goes from the EGR valve to the intake broke in half!!! I have to get another one from GM which is $150!!!!! All because I bent it too much and it got a hole in it and I noticed that the idle was messed up and I heard a vaccum leak and then moved the tube and it broke in half hahahaha. So I have to fix that tommorrow. My only problem is.. and if anyone can help please do... what other method can I use to unseize those bolts on the exhaust manifold other than heating them up cause I don't have a torch.... I am stumped other than WD 40 which I don't think will do the trick.... HELP!!! Anyways please let me know if you can do it next weekend BigTex. P.S. I will do the valve covers but I think I will need help with the crankshaft. TTYL!!!!

I live in Forney, but work in the north Dallas area. I priced out the same tube. Mine had a major crease in it, but I got it worked out w/o having to buy another one.

Where did you get the 8.1 injectors? What about the tuning for them?

Hey Richard tried you on your cell phone! No luck I got the injectors from that valve god guy! BTW, thanks for referring me to him!! He sold them to me for $250 and they are direct fit 30lb/hr injectors. As far as tuning them that parish8 guy has been through that... he has a post that shows the injector flow rate for them and I would figure the offset would be the same as my injectors now right??? If not, I can ask him. Everything is lined up for the install next weekend I have the missing part coming this week along with the injectors and I talked to the guy letting me use his cable and we are getting a license put on it and should have it back by Thursday or Friday. Now the only loose end is whether or not you can help me???? BUDDY!! I might have another friend from Austin that will come up and lend his hands... but that is not for sure... Please let me know where you stand! TTYL!!!

hey Will, i would help you if i could. since your going with larger injectors does that mean that your not doing any of the whipple computer stuff?

if your not doing any of the wiring stuff that helps alot with the install, i figure 6-8hr install for one person if you don't have to do the wiring.

i would save the money from that tube and just make yourself some block off plates, who needs that egr crap anyways? i assume that since you can reprogram for the injectors you must have ls1edit so it would be no big deal to program out the egr stuff.

Nope I am not using any of the Whipple computer CRAP! HEHEHE And I have already bought the EGR tubes cause I thought you might need it... I didn't know you could program out the EGR. DAMN. OH well. It looked like a part that didn't really need to be there anyways... As far as the injectors, yes I did go with the 8.1L injectors and as per you they are 30lb/hr. The only thing I needed to know is what to change in LS1 Edit other than the flow rate and I need to know the offset... Bigtex is going to help me tune for the timing and everything.... anyways BigTex if you are out there please reply!!! Talk to you guys later!!

Hey Will - I have been having some cell phone issues. It may be time for a new one. Anyway, I'll shoot you an email, and see what we can do. We should probably meet up early this week, and I can pull down your PCM to an LS1 file. Then I can work on getting it tuned for you and have the file ready when you do the injectors. When you get your LS1 cable, the file would be ready to upload.

Reading the PCM info for a 99 w/ 21.6 # injectors, and an 00 w/ 24.6 # injectors, the injector offset table is quite different. As far as I know, we can't read the PCM from a truck w/ an 8.1L with LS1 edit, so I can't compare the offset table of those injectors. But, I assume that moving from the 26.4# injector to a 30# injector would need the offset table changed too.

Lets not forget that Will has a 4.8 under the hood, so I don't see him pushing the limit of those 30# injectors, but who knows.
