how did you decide on the 30lb/hr injectors?

http://www.rceng.com/technical.htm

acording to that page the 30lb/hr injectors at 100%duty cycle and .55 B.S.F.C. are only good for 436 fwhp. not much room left with those injectors.

i am still learning about all of this but if your injectors are open anyware near 100% i don't think injector offset will make any diference. from what i understand injector offset just changes the timing of when the injectors open, it lets you adjust for slower opening injectors, i don't think there will be any diference between the stock injectors and the 30lb'ers that you are puting in there. i could be way off on this subject.

Richard,
You can read my PCM with your cable? I thought it was proprietary to your VIN? Or is that just the programming part of it? BTW, I have a Superchips custom tuning installed right now so the gears and shift points and all that stuff will be easy we can copy it from their program if LS1-Edit will read it. Then we can compare it to the stock program and see what we can do from there. I don't think it should be that hard to do the injectors in LS1Edit but then again I am not sure.....

Richard,
BTW, I switched the valve covers yesterday and I am planning on putting in the injectors today or tommorrow. Also I haven't decided whether or not I want to wait for you to help me with the crankshaft pulley or to try it myself..... Either way it needs to be done. Those valve covers weren't as hard as I thought.... COOL!

Yes, with LS1 edit, I can read anyones PCM, but I cannot program it. I have read several peoples PCMs, just to see the difference in their stock tuning (or see what a tuner changed).

Like I told you, the crank pulley should be pretty easy since you don't have to completely remove the pulley, just the bolt. Make sure you have a 1/2" socket for it and a breaker bar, and it should be no problem.

When do the injectors come it?

They come in today but I wasn't sure whether I could just run the regular stock program for them or not???? I mean I would figure it would work the same because I am not using the full capacity of them.... you tell me what you think.....

Well, yes, you would have a problem.

The PCM works in two modes open and closed loop. During normal driving, the uses the O2 sensors and detects if the air fuel mix is too rich or lean, and adjusts fuel as necessary. At WOT, the PCM has a table that tells it how much fuel to pump in at different RPMs.

You have to tell the PCM what size injectors it has, so it will know how long to keep them open. Without tuning them in, you will be running really rich. The PCM will adjust for it during normnal driving, but at WOT, no such luck. It may be just fine for the few days until LS1 edit comes in. Your choice - if you do, I'd stay away from WOT.

Shoot me an email with your schedule for the rest of the week, and I'll see what I can do to help you out.

Richard

hey big tex, you wouldn't happen to have a read from a 6.0 would you? i would love to have one to look at, once i get my exhaust on if i still have a ton on KR i wouldn't mind copying over some of the tables from a 6.0 to see if that helps.

Richard,
I am pretty much open for the rest of the week.... except for tommorrow. Either Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Sat. Actually I am getting that EGR block thing on Wednesday if that is good for you??? Or Saturday would be the ultimate goal to do it but if you are busy that's cool. I guess the best thing since I am so flexiable is for you to tell me what the best time is for you.... Let me know...
