Default Cab removal - weight?

Anybody have any idea how much a fully dressed regular cab with interior, doors, fenders, hood, radiator, and radiator support weighs? I am lucky enough to have to do head gaskets in my LLY 1/2 ton again, thinking about pulling the cab this time to make things easier. How I pull it will depend on how much it weighs...

Not a clue... Maybe about 1000Lbs.

A 2 post lift would probably be best if you have access to one.

I'd just pull the engine out of the chassis & put it on a stand. They come out pretty easy.

What do you plan to lift the cab with? I can pull a cab with an ls engine in about 30 min with a car lift. I have done alot of them though.

It looks like I will be pulling mine in a few months to make it AWD. I planned on pulling it with a lift, and lowering it on the new frame after I roll it under.

I don't have access to a lift unfortunately. Was thinking about jacking the whole truck up, supporting the cab, then lowering the frame out from under it.

Easier option if it was light enough would be to have a handful of friends come over and lift off the body, but I think it's too heavy for that.

Maybe I should just pull the motor...it needs new oil pan gaskets, might be a good time to get those done also. My least favorite part of pulling a motor is always separating the trans from the engine, but in this case it might be worth it to not have to do the oil pan with the engine in the truck, if that's even possible on this thing. Needs thermostats too, not that those are difficult...

Then I can leave the truck in the driveway and roll the engine into the garage. Plenty of room to work on it then. Ok fine Roger, you win.
