Depending on your location 10k might not be a bad deal. Lets not forget its leather and has a sunroof. 2005 was the first year a sunroof was available from the factory.

Of the 379 Red VHO's in 2005 only 75 Red VHO's had a sunroof.

Not all VHO's had the Bose package with the captains and center console. Some got the regular standard split bench interior package.

A VHO should not be confused with a Spring Special truck. They look Identical but the VHO got the LQ9 6.0L and in 05 it got the 14 bolt rear end.

A Spring special is similar including frame, wheel's, and gear ratio but only had a 5.3L. All the ones I have seen had the LM7 Iron 5.3L

In 05, the 4x4 1500 Chevy and GMC had the optional L33 aluminum 5.3L. This was the High Output version 5.3L engine. Not to be confused with the Vortec High Output optioned trucks with the LQ9 6.0L.

And Yes even though they are 2wd, they are on a 4x4 chassis with Torsion bar suspension. All the 4x4 or AWD parts will bolt up. I believe the torsion bars have a different spring rate on the 2WD trucks. I have not been able to confirm it though.

There is no used pricing available for a VHO truck. The only thing close would be an SS truck of the same year that you could compare it to as far as value. But keep in mind they made less of these then the SS trucks of the same year respectively.

Hope that helps some. They're a blast to drive but they need a tune to wake it up along with a few bolt on's.

Thanks guys. Thanks 1fastbrick so there isn't many of these trucks riding around. A Chevrolet dealership actually has the truck. I am going to talk to them in a few hours. I have put around 150 miles on the truck this weekend and it hasn't thrown any codes. It seems pretty fast to me but I also drive a 97 ranger v6 with 33's on it. Lol

Well went to the dealership and told them I wasnt buying it for no more than 10 out the door and they said they couldn't do that.... Sooooo I walked out the door. Recon I'll let them stew on it. The salesman I was talking to said that they have 9,800 in the truck and that they aren't making but 100 or so off the truck. I call BS on that. I also told them that if they replaced the brakes and back tires I would buy for what they wanted but they wouldn't do that either

Good walk away. Like I said... not a high demand truck so it's gonna sit until they sell it to you... or send it to auction. I have never had much luck with dealers... always want way too much for something they did nothing too. They likely gave the previous owner probably 7 grand or less on a trade in for it. Even if they gave 9800 they soaked him hard enough on the new vehicle it wouldn't matter what they sold this for. Just leave it... let them call you back and if they don't go back in a week or so.

And honestly I wouldn't use this site for value either. Otherwise I would pay a lot more for trucks than I do. Sure we know what a vho is..... but 95% of the buying public sees a loaded 2wd truck with a gas hog 6 liter in it....Value wise it is worth absolutely no more than a same config 5.3 powered truck and in fact a good chunk of people will turn their nose up at it because it has an LQ9. Its cool and may gain some collectors value in 20 years.... but who cares. Why do you think I get 1500hds cheap.... nobody wants them lol.

Take that pig... 06 vmax loaded cloth crew cab 4x4.... Buddy has had it listed since November of last year. What's wrong with it? Was in a wreck when it was new and they buggered up the two drivers doors which now the outer skins are starting to show rust... fixable and maybe un-noticable by most but I saw it. Otherwise most of the usual wear and tear an 80000 mile 7 year old truck would have. Jacked it up and it needs wheel bearings and upper balljoints. I could probably get it for 10k.... but pass. It needs too much stuff imo. And really if I changed my mind its not selling either in nearly 10 months on the market.

Like I said... nobody wants a truck with a 6 liter in the average buying public. Hell this one is a crew cab 4x4 in no worse shape than most any other 7 year old heap and yet its still worthless lol.
