Default brake difference between 02 to 05

Well I know I have disk brakes under my 02 and I won't the rear end out of the 05 silverado. But it has drums. And my question is are the brake lines the same where it T's off and goes to the left and right brakes? So all I have to do is undo the lines where it T's and hook them back the same way on my 02?

Not sure if the lines are the same but I'll bet that they end up in a different location for the wheel cylinders as opposed to the caliper on the earlier model. You might be able to "massage" them into place, or bend some new line. (you'll need a tubing bender and a double flare tool). the backing plates are probably different too, but I'll bet that they're not that expensive (I priced them out a while ago as mine are rusted through, but I can't remember what they cost ). Not sure if the housing is any different, as far as where the bolt holes line up, but hopefully someone can chime in that knows for sure...

We took a rear end out of Lownslo06's 2007 classic (3.23/drum) and put a 2002 (3.73/disk) brake rear end under it and everything worked just fine.
if you plan on doin this, go ahead and get you some Stainless Steel brake lines. perfect time to install them

You will be ok as long as the lines for the drum rear are the ones you are using. I swapped mine the opposite way. But the t is the same.

So your sayin just get some SS brake lines made to where they'll screw into the t the same as stock and make it where they will bolt to the drum brake set?

im not sure how the rear end is that you have and the one your getting.. but on Lownslo06's they were in the same place.

saying, if your goin to do the swap, go ahead and get the lines, well worth it.

The only diff on the rear end brake lines are the ones mounted to the rear end.
