Bought the new project truck.

I went by the dealer tonight to look at a blue 02' Silverado RCSB they had on the lot and it turned out to be Light Blue, not Indigo blue like I wanted, and it had neutral interior which I can't stand (no offense to anyone, it's just a preference). The truck only had 14.2k miles on it so they were asking $18.3k for it. That's acutally not too much over what it books for Retail but still way more than I was gonna pay.
As we were negotiating he mentioned a grey 02' Silvy that they just took as atrade but it has not been cleaned up and it had a ton of miles.. I perked up at this thinking this is just waht I am looking for, high miles to keep the price down and it was grey which was my second choice color. The thing was totally dirty from the last rain and the interior had crumbs but was in great conidtion. The motor fired right up with no pistons slap and the trans shifts good so I had him wash it up and park it under the flourecent lights to inspect it. It passed my visual so I made an offer and after a bit of haggling we agrred on $12.5 out the door.
The truck is Grey (not dark like the Carbon Metallic), has charcoal interior, the LS package, 4.8L (it's going to end up a salvage motor for Rick anyways), some ugly wheels, Looney Toons floor mats, and chrome fender trim. LOL
My best haggling point was the truck has 96K miles on it which most people would freak out about but in my case it works well since I'm replacing all the main drivetrain pieces as well as some of the suspension.
Maybe not the best deal out there but for my area it's not too bad considering it was from a Stealership.
Friday I'm gonna start stripping the ugly crap off and see what kind of weight reduction i can do before Rick stabs the big motor, trans and all the other crap I'm gonna need to run 10s
I'll post pics of it in here after I pick it up tomorrow night.

for me 96K is exactly what i am looking for in my new Z71, i don't understand why people freek out about 90k or more miles, my first truck had 156K when i bought it and the only thing that was not self induced problem was the ac compressor went out. but good luck

LOL, just watch. I may just post em up.
Stone150, I agree in some respects but for someone who was wanting to modify the stock motor lower miles might be better but hell, anyone willin gto modify should know the motor may not last very long anyway.
