I guess I should have worded that a little differently. I was just being sarcastic, I hear a lot of people say that the DEI teams cheat, and I DON'T believe they do. It would be nearly impossible to get away with. I do believe they have something figured out on the plate tracks that the other guys don't quite have a handle on, whether it be aero or engine, it just flat works. (running Chevy don't hurt none either) I was at the spring races at Talladega in '02 and '03, and the 8 and 15 could walk everybody, especially the 8 through the center of the turns. Don't get me wrong, I am not a jr man myself, no offense intended, but he does good at Daytona and Talladega, thats in the books. I guess we will see who the TBA is come Sunday. By the way, I appreciate your post, and if you ever get the chance, go to Talladega it is Awesome

it's engine....the DEI engine program in regards to Talladega, Daytona, Texas, California is second to none. they make more power (turn better time) at those tracks than anyone. plus JR. and MW know how to blive them chines (as my uncle Bud would say) on a big track. i honestly can't wait for this season, the way Jr competed last year, he handled the adversity a year can throw at him better than he did before, he just has his mind set on winning a championship, and honestly this new Nextel cup bull **** SUCKS *** BIG TIME. but the kid will DEFINATLY be one to contend with. i feel like Newman will be around in the end also, and maybe someone none of us think has a chance could make a run for the win.

ALOT of the DEI dominance at the restrictor plate races came from when Dale Earnhardt and Richard Childress got serious and stepped up the aero program. The DEI cars have continued to be dominant forces at Daytona/Talledega since then. The motors are awesome too. They definately have there shiat together at those tracks. I think Dale Jr. learned alot from his Dad about how to drive those tracks to. I see alot of Dale Sr. in Jr's driving at Daytona.
Cheating these days would be VERY hard to do. NASCAR has seen so many cheats over the years that they check EVERYTHING on the cars and tag it for raceday.
I'm going to hold off judgement on the new rules until the end of the year. I think with an "effectively" shortened race season and the extra points for winning things could be interesting.

I agree with Slow about the Nextel crap, and play-off BS that they have come up with, just because Matt Kenseth only won one race and still took the Cup. I miss winston already. Just let 'em go fast and turn left. **** on points any way. I just like to see them fight it out for the finishline. Maybe instead of a play off they will mix Nascar with Pro-wrestling, they can race a few laps, pit and duke it out for 5 mins. and run a few more laps. Last man concious wins the championship.
