Default Bodyline misalignment?

I have what may seem like a stupid question. I have an 06 RCSB 4x4, it now has Belltech drop steering knuckles, no rear lift blocks, 2" drop shackles and Hotchkiss sway bars. I did not notice before, so I do not know if it was always like this from the day that I purchased it, but there is now about a half inch misalignment of the bodylines between the cab and the bed. The bed being higher than the cab. I have been trying to pay attention to as many Chevy's as I can around town as I can to see if many others are like this or whether I have done something wrong. I seem to see some that are misaligned like mine but the majority are fine. Anyone else have a RCSB where the bed doesn't sit level wih the cab, if so is it normal for there to be this much variation from truck to truck, and what causes it. I would post pics but i don't have any of the truck at the moment.

Mine is a 99 and it's the same way...been that way since day 1, it drives me nuts. I've looked at alot of other trucks and they're not like that, but then I see some and they are I haven't looked closely enough, but I wonder if there's some sort of shim between the bed and frame that can be removed. It would look so much better if it lined up perfectly, not to mention tightening the gap between the rear wheel wells and the tires.

Thanks, glad to know someone elses has been like that since day 1, I do wish that I had noticed it back when I first purchased it. Maybe I wouldn't be so concerned with it now. It drives me nuts now as well. I have looked under it for shims under the bed as well but I do not recall seeing any, I wonder if it has anything to do with the rubber mounts that separate the cab body from the frame having compressed too much or are to soft. I don't recall if I have noticed it as much on extended or quad cabs, maybe they have several extra pads that spred the weight of the cab out better. I'm gonna have to check out the GMC dealer lots today.

Let me take a swing at this one!
Is the right side bed lower than the left side where it meets the cab????
If you stand directly behind your tailgate, look at the top edge of the bed line where it meets cab and look at the lower portion of the cab's glass seal line. You'll see it sloping down to the right.
Now, if you don't have a spray in bed liner or tool box, look at the back bed plate that is welded in. Look at the bottom edge of the bed floor where they meet. You'll see why the bed is crooked. They welded it crooked from the factory!
My 05' VHO is the same way. My dealership said take it to the body shop and have them shim the right side bed mounts. The center bolt mount gets an 1/8th" shim and the bolt mount at the cab gets a 1/4" shim. The body shop told me this. I just never had time to have them do it.
Hope this helps.

I just wonder if the trucks with the misaligned bed plate came from the same GM plant????
There are some that do not have this problem. I looked at a lot of them at the dealership I bought my truck from. Some had the issue and some did not.
We should start a complaint to GM for this........

I think mine's from Indiana...can't remember, I'll have to go check later. Both sides seem to be evenly off too.

the only trucks that i have seen like this are the ones with a c-notch that is only bolted in. the back portion of the frame will flex at the notch and cause this. if you get c-notches, have them welded in!! ask me how i know as soon as i noticed this, i went and had the notches welded in and the bed realigned with the cab.
