Default blower motor

I am having an issue with my blower motor not working on 5, before the wiring harness burnt up 1-4 worked but 5 just quit. Then the harness burnt, so I replace the harness and the resistor so I now have speeds 1-4 but still no 5. Every time I turn it to 5 I here a click coming from under the dash toward the center part of the dash not near the motor. Any idea why this is would help.

That does still sound like the resister, maybe you got a bad one.

When your on high speed (5), you are bypassing the resistor and going straight to the motor. I'm guessing that one of the wires to the motor is open.

yeah, right at the resisitor the wires get hot and melt. You need a new blower motor resistor and wire harness that will need to be spliced in.
