Default Black Bear Tune Files

Hey guys,
I got my tune files from BBP. They sent me 5 files a 87-89OctSport, a 87-89OctTune, a 91+OctSport, a 91+OctTune and the Stocktune file.

When I plug my AutoCal into the truck I have the Option to Prog these files as well as four others named Full 87-89OCtSprt, OctTune, 91+OctSprt and Tune.

Anyone one what the difference in these are??

thanks
R.

Diff timing adjustments for each fuel.
possibly some different trans settings for the sport tunes.

thanks for the info.
Let me ask you something then, can I load lets say the 87-89OctSport tune and use 91Octane fuel or visa versa, load the 91+OctSport Tune and fuel up with 87 Octane gas?

You can do the 87-89 and use 91 no problem...
but using the 91octspt and using 87 gas might give you some detonation/pinging since the timing is a lil higher.
If your knock sensors are healthy, you will be ok tho.
i ran a HPPIII for a year and it pinged its butt off before i saw the light and bought EFI Live.

Great info thanks. While i have you on the line...a couple of more questions.
When I plugged the AtuoCal to my truck, I saw the files I got from BBP and 4 others named Full 87-89 and 91+, do you know what those are for? Someone said not to use them.

Thanks for the info.

Sorry a couple of more questions. Is the difference between the OctTune file and the OctSport tune is the towing right? Im assuming the OctTune is for towing.

Last one, I read somewhere that the tune gets better after a couple of days, is that accurate, is there a learning period for the tune?

Sorry if these seem elementary, this is new to me so my learning curve is huge at this point.

Again thanks
R.

You should be able to tow on either one, just listen for pinging.. if it does.. put the octtune in.

The pcm has a slight learning curve with the reading of oxygen sensors and such.
