Default been thinking 6.2 and 6l90e in NBS

has anyone does this in a NBS? I would think that this combination in a 2wd RCSB would be awesome. I have been thinking about this awhile with the price of RCSB coming down and the 6.2 and 6l90e. what has to be done to make this work?

thanks

I have been thinking the same thing have heard its alot easier to go with the 6l80 that came with the motor because the computers form the motor and tranny are hard to match up theres a right up about it in here some where. Or u could get a 6.3 ls3 with the 6l90 on it if u want a 6l90e.

Everyone around here calls the body style from 99-06 the NBS. The NNBS are 07+. I don't agree with it, but that's what we interpret it as.

So, to put the 6.2/6l80e combo in a 99-06 and have everything work perfectly is just not feasible at this point.

In a 07+ its possible, just takes a little work. Read the 6l80e swap thread in the NNBS section done by iamkeniff. Its good. It would be awesome to see this in a RCSB.

LS3 is not a 6.3, its a 6.2. Control wise, the 6l80e/90e are the same transmission.

you would need a 6.2 ecm, and the tcm is in the 6l80 right? so if you got the motor trans, and harness, you could make it work. but it would cost ya.
