Me and my friend were in my truck at a stop light the other night when this rcsb Hemi comes up next to us with 2 young looking punks in it. It had dual exhaust for sure, it sounded really good too.When I turned my head to my friend and asked him if he thought they would punch it. I heard them punch it. When I looked and punched the gas, they were already 3 or 4 truck lengths in front and pulling. Later on, on a different road, they were behind me at a stop light. When the light turned green, I eased to about 20mph (after that, my tranny won’t downshift into 1st. Instead, it goes into 2nd at like 2200 rpms). Well the hemi punched it and got in the other lane. I went to punch it and the stupid damn thing shifted into 2nd at about 2200rpms. Needless to say, he flew right by, leaning out the window with a big smirk on his face and shrugged his shoulders. I was pissed then! As my rpms started increasing, I started to recover some of the distance, when he seen this he let off. I was going about 50mph and about 2 – 2 1/2 trucks behind him and was creeping up, trying to get next to him. That chickenshit bastard punched it when he was already 1 ˝-2 trucks in front of me! I punched anyways. By the time we got to about 80mph, I had got right beside him and was still gaining. Right after I had put a bumber on him he let off. I slowed back down to around 55mph. He falls back to about 3 trucks behind me. Next thing I know, he is coming up on me real fast, like he was trying to pull a ricer fly by. When I punched it at about 60mph, he was right at my back bumper. Then he pulls on me about a bumper, as soon as my truck hit about 70-75, I started pulling kinda hard. We let off at about 95mph and his front bumper was about 5 feet behind my truck. When I let off, he did his little ricer flyby and wouldn’t look at us. Every person I’ve seen driving a hemi has that, “I’m a badass, because my truck’s got a hemi” expression. I love slapping that expression off of their face!

It will, I was going a little over 25 when I punched it. I think it will downshift until 23mph and after that into 2nd. Before LS1 edit it would downshift into 1st up to 35mph. When I had it tuned they had me drive it around to see if anything needed changing, I didn't notice it then. It's my fault because I should have checked it, they said to just send the computer to them if I noticed anything later on. I'm just waiting on some gears. That way I can get both things taking care of at once.

 

That Ram sounds like it had more done to it than just catback exhaust. Your truck sounds like its pretty quick based on your mods. I havent raced a bunch of them, but like I said, your truck sounds quick. It would be a little more satisfying if you got to actually line up and go instead of him trying to get a fat jump.

 

Nice kill... Evedently those Hemi Hemi comercial do have some influence on those Hemi owners. I also had one for dinner this past Saturday. I put buslengths on him to well past over 100.

 

Good kill man,but why will your truck only downshift to 1st at 23MPH.I thought it should downshift to first at least at 30-33MPH or so especially with 3.42 gears?

 

He means he can't leave in low one and go past 23 mph without it shifting to 2nd gear by it self. Mine does the same thing.
