Default BCMs and programming.

I have all the parts and electronics from a 1999 silverado going into a 1993 fullsize 2dr blazer. I want to wire up the BCM harness like the original 93 BCM, and I THINK that means I can have door lock/unlock, beep on lock, and rear window open. the rear window is already electronic, all you need to do to open it is hit the solenoid with 12 volts. I think the original switch is fucked because it doesn't work that way, only when you hit it direct.

anyway, I think this is going to need to be programmed like a 2001 tahoe BCM? What is the process on this? How do I get it done and how much should it cost? would it be easier to just get a used tahoe BCM on ebay and be done with it? I have the wiring side of it pretty much covered, but the little integrations are going to be the PITA, but also are whats going to set this project apart. Thanks.

i would think you would be better off wiring it by scratch. i would install an aftermarket alarm that has multi outputs for all your doors and hatch and whatever else. i dont know what your going "progam" because idont think there is anything to program? are you swapping motors? and you have 99 wiring and electronics going into a 93 blazer and want to use an 01 bcm? why do you want the 01 bcm?

yes, putting the 4.8 in the 93 to begin with, the upgrading to a ls2 or ?? later, after i get the kinks worked out. I would want to use the 00 or 01 tahoe bcm because its already programmed for the trunk latch and such for a gen 3 tahoe. excuse me now if i sound dumb because ive been since 5pm. lol.

maybe I can integrate the gen3 ecu with the 93 BCM? I just think it would be easier to use all new ****...

My thought here is to integrate everything like factory, but i dunno, maybe an after market alarm would be the better solution? im not really into the aftermarket thing...

well first off its great that you want to use the factory stuff but, IMO its going to cause more headache than its worth. are we talking bout the body control module or the engine control ? cause they are different. i might be wrong but i dont think we can program the bcm.(hp tuners). only thing we can change in relation to the keyless system is the vats. also i think you should probably should get an 02 or newer ecm for that motor. if im wrong anyone let me know......

the dealer can do the BCM... the PCM naturally is going to be the one from the donor truck. I'll most likely need to dig into the 93 to find out what its definately going to need, I was just curious if theres any guys on here that work for a dealer or have access to the correct equipment.

well... after looking at the 99 truck and the 99 wiring schematics, it appears the only thing the BCM has to do with the ECU is VATS. if that is the case, then I will use the one from the 93. VATS will be disabled in the tune.
