Bad things happening to my truck
#1
here is a list of what i have been noticing this week that are all new:
1. oil looks like it is leaking from transfer case (WTF is up with that)
2. truck revved real high and didn't go anywhere (is my tranny going?)
3. truck goes in and out of OD at cruising speed (feels like TC engages and disengages)
4. feels like it might stall sometimes at idle or when coming to a complete stop (is it my plugs)
5. rear calipers might be sticking

1. Pretty normal from what I've seen with just about any 4*4
2-3. Might be a torque converter issue. My old Y3200 went bad and would set a slippage code that unlocked the converter. I kept a laptop in the car to clear the code so I could drive normal until it set again.
4. Could be a gunked up TB or idle air control issue. Try cleaning up the TB with some brake cleaner and also take the idle air controller off the side and make sure it's not cruded up.
5. Might be the POS emergency brake. Wasn't GM fixing those things or didn't they have an upgraded part??
My one question. Have you been thinking of getting a new truck lately, if so your old truck knows and is doing this stuff on purpose, NEVER FAILS!

Good luck.

Time for the 2005 Silverado SS, Silver Burch Met with a power sunroof.
Sorry to here about your problems, It seems the better people take care of them the more they break down, Mine needs alot of attention and tweaking.

thanks for the feedback. sounds like i don't have to worry about the transfer case problem. i'm hoping my tranny is not going as well. hopefully the ATF is just a little low in the tranny. i would hate for my TC to be going bad. as for the e-brake, i ripped mine out a few months ago. i think my calipers are sticking due to all the mud that accumulates there from offroading

Join the club.
Sorry about your troubles but I expect nothing less...vehicles have built in oblescense (sp?) where they are made to go bad after so long.
BTW...I'm waiting for an '05 also so I can get a sunroof in a 2500HD Dmax!

I don't know how cars know but, they do.
When you listed everything going wrong I knew you've been thinking about a new truck.

Damn, at least clean the mud off your truck after you dirty it up.

ya, i get lazy after offroading and like to show off the mud. maybe i should buy an SS to eliminate that problem of having a tendency to go off roading. speaking of the SS. anyone have a pic of the SS in the birch or silver color that creederado mentioned earlier?

If you took it to a stealership they'd probably tell you that you need $6,000 worth of repairs (i've had bad experience with stealerships). My 4wd is leaking where the output shaft bolts up to the axle. I've heard just changing the fluid can fix some small leaks. I'm sure it thins out over time like engine oil. I don't know much about t-cases.
