Hey mods, most of us do appreciate such a great website that is free. We appreciate all of your hard work and money that goes into it, hope a few dont ruin it for all.
I'll second that one hoss; I've only been on here a short while but its my most visited site now.

Naked AV, maybe I can help explain. While I understand your point of leaving the offensive material up as an example of what not to post, believe me, some of it is so bad that it has to be removed in order to protect the decency and reputation of the site. Example, a few days ago I saw a picture posted which I took personal outrage to, and I was not even a member of the target ethnic group being attacked in the picture! I reported the post to the mods and it was promptly removed (thanks JSmith ). To have left that image up, even as an example of offensive material, would have disgraced the site, and possibly blemished GM's reputation in the eyes of some visitor.

As to "what's the problem?", well, I look on Page two and I see SEVEN locked threads!!!. I have not seen the like in any forum anywhere. And everyone is wondering why there is no "off-topic" forum for trucks!

Lastly, I should point out that I have always felt that trucks were a "guest" at LS1Tech. The main focus of the site is cars, and we are being allowed space only by the kindness of the owner. Thus I think we should show a little better manners.

OK, off the soap box, Peace !!

Perhaps if a reason was given when the post was edited (there are provisions for that) then posts wont pop up asking "why was my post edited". Pleas note the lack of explanation on my post that was edited then the corresponding PM me post a bit down from it. If three little letter where put in 'NWS' I would have not made the second post.

Please see statement #3 in my original post. We do not have to justify what we do here. This is a privately owned website, and we will manage it the way we feel it needs to be managed. 9 times out of 10, some of these guys asking why their thread was deleted know damn well what for, but just want to cause more hassle about it. If you want to know, PM a staff member, don't post a new thread asking about it. You "might" get an answer.

That's double edged sword. I usually do PM people 90% of the time and have had good sucess with it. But in the same verse, why can't someone who has had a post edited (the name of who edited it is at the bottom) or thread removed pm a mod in that section. No threads are unretrivable. We have an archive of where we put them and do not pemantatly delete threads or posts. If NWS were there, I would have removed it myself. Our section guidelines don't allow it.

Some of you are making mountains out of molehills here. While the original topic may have been brash, it is simply a reminder to please follow the section and site guidelines but now states the tougher consequences. It may not have been written with enough kindness to please everyone in it's wording to effectivly get the point accross to some, but it does make the point clear. Do you realize that while we volunteer or time, that some of the "mad" people will re-register names (sometimes 10 or more) and attack the site when it's late so in the morning there is a barrage of garbage to deal with. There was a member here that got 1 year off due to the outcry of negative feedback from the members and blatent disregard for the guidelines. Some of you that have been around long enough know who that is. I don't want that to happen to anyone on that list in the original topic.

here is my .02
most of the things that do go on in the truck section are pretty tame compared to the rest of the threads on this site.
If you check out the Texas and racers lounge thread - they get pretty out of hand - to the point where I dont feel comfortable even being there - reason I stay in the truck section - and I will go out on a limb here and say why most of the "truck" guys stay in the truck section. They dont feel welcome on other boards because we dont run 11's or have an F body. It's just a truck and who gives a F about a truck.
If the hammer is coming down on the truck section - is this happening on the other boards ?? If not, that is not quite right.

True - some folks do get out of hand with comments about gender, race and sexual orientation - and true there are folks here that test the limits and see how far the rules will bend - and typical see what they can get away with.
But - mods - do your job and enforce the rules - I enjoy the site everyday
I learn new tips and tricks, I offer my 20 years of auto experience, plus I get to see what looks cool and what looks like *** - I also come for the humor - make fun of ricers and sometime tease each other.
I guess the big point is to respect the rules and each other.
I love this site and being here, just make sure that the other boards have the same guidelines to follow. The mods need to be calibrated. other than that I'm good.

I pretty much agree with Nineball and the other mods on this, it's their site let them run it how they want. The site is not here to please me. And to be honest, the truck forum is the about the only one that has mod bashing pretty regularly.... But compared to some of the other sections, this section is EXTREMELY tame. There are no name-calling pissing matches between sponsors & members in here(read:Forced Induction), no sponsor bashing(read:Internal Engine & FI), & very little drama at all in here other than 5-6 members(10-15 is a little too high) that cause trouble....This site is a business and those sections(read: the Car sections) are THE business for the Admins, not the truck forums. So, they dont want to have to put up with the same things in here that happen everywhere else. Thats the way I see it anyway, could be wrong.

I think the real point is that this is nineball's site, and he should be able to do whatever the hell he wants with it. I'm sure the server and internet connection aren't cheap, and I can't say I blame him for banning those guys. Compared with other boards, the moderation here is remarkably lax.
