I've got an 02 2wd sierra but it's got a DBW throttle body not a cable. Also the lisence plate light covers are black and not chrome and I was under the impression they were chrome until 03. It also has a traction control option where the 4wd buttons would go that I have never seen in any other truck.

Is it just a late model 02? I heard something about emissions and the throttle body from a local shop but I don't see what those two have to do with each other.

I've been curious about this for a while but I always forget to post it.

I'll have to check tomorrow but I've never heard of an 02 1/2 model truck now that I think of it. The big difference was between 02 and 03 i thought.

One of the guys at Thunder told me the truck came from Cali and it was equipped with different emissions equipment. Not too sure about that but who knows.

 

i know there was some "TREE HUGGER" vehicle that where made specifically for that fucked up state..whats the front end like on your truck?? is it like the older style or newer style?? i gotta buddy that his moms 2000 tahoe is drive by wire and not cable

 

its the old style. the hippie version had a 19hp electric motor helping it out and a ton of batterys and crap under the back seat. The 2000 tahoe had to be wrecked and peaced together with random parts or something cause 2000 is way before the DBW came out.

 

do you have the tune for your truck?? or did some one else tune it??

 

thunder racing tuned it. I argued with a couple of guys there cause they didn't believe me when I told them I had a DBW.

 

thats weird for sure it might be a late 03 model.... as im a full time mechanic also...some vehicle of later months at times do have parts they shouldnt from a year newer.. yours might just be a mix breed..
