sounds mean as hell,
gained 2 tenths over the 40 series I have..
havnt had a problem with it being to loud.. (with the local law)
hope you dont mind it droning all the time..
it gets real loud in the cab.
I would invest in a good sound system

4.8T just welded a 3" pipe in place of the muffler and it sounds nice. In the cab you can bairly hear it at all, and on the highway you dont even notice it. On the outside its loud as hell when he hammers it.

Remember though, he still has the rest of the stock pipe, thats why its still somewhat quiet.

I used to have true duals with cats and no mufflers; sounded damn good. I also have 4 inch tips, which helps with the raspiness. I ended up putting mufflers on it though 'cuz I lost a lot of my low end.

I think it sounds loud, mean. It will be loud if you have it turned down under the truck. It will be quieter in the cab if you have pipe running all the way to the back. IMO

I just did dual cutouts on mine right before the X-pipe and its loud as hell. The cutouts sit right about my backseat. I think it sounds mean, and I love it. I capped them for a day just to see the difference and hated it. Took the caps back off last night. My truck actually feels much stronger with them opened up. The downshifts hit hard as hell now. Haven't dyno'd or run the track since installing them though yet.
