Truck is an 04 with 194k miles, have a very annoying squeak in the dash that sounds like a bird chirping. It does it regardless of whether the truck is moving or not, even if the engine is off and the key is in the run position. I've taken the dash apart, and it seems to be close to where the steering shaft goes through the firewall. Any thoughts, i'm thinking it may be related to the heater core somehow? I also hear gurgling from the vents when the truck is running, though the heat still blows good.

Can rule out the cables attached to the cab, I removed those and it made no difference with any of the squeaks and rattles.

 

Gurgling from the vents indicates air in the cooling system so you should investigate that. As for the chirp, maybe a stuck a/c actuator?

Do you have an aftermarket alarm? When they start go out they can do some odd things. They are usually placed in that area.
