Default Am I going to have issues......

with the stock fan getting in the way of the puller when I swap out my underdrive pulley on my silverado? 2001 5.3, all stock up front.

I'm renting a puller and a balancer install tool from autozone to do the swap, because I don't want to take any chances. It's free anyhow, since I get my deposit back when I return the tools.

I was reading through the Haynes manual on my truck, and it recommends removing the rock shield to gain access from underneath the truck. It makes no note of removing the fan, nor does it note the fan getting in the way of the puller during removal/installation. I did notice, however, that in the manual, the motor they were working on for this particular detail was on a rack, not in a truck. And also, the fan was not on the motor. I know they did this so the reader could get a clear picture of what was going one, but did they skimp on an important detail?

The fan is very simple to remove, so just get it out of your way.
