I've had a Halon 1211 extinguisher for a long time now, I bought it before the ban. I can still get it refilled, they just don't sell new 1211 units (ozone depleting). They do make ozone-friendly halon now, it isn't supposed to be fully as effective as the old stuff. It is rated for electrical fires. The reason I have it instead of dry chemical is because it leaves no residue.
