air bag rpoblem

Default air bag rpoblem

well i just got a 2003 silverado....i have a problem that when i turn it on it says service air bag...what should i do it get it checked or what could it be?

There is a bulletin for a loose terminal in a connector on the driver side kick panel, right behind the e-brake. It's a yellow connector. You might want to try checking that out and putting some dielectric grease on it before you take it in.. Just disconnect the battery before you do anything. Hope that works.

have you had the code erased? and it keeps coming back? does it have an aftermarket alarm or remote start? reason i ask is, like a dumb ***, i accidentaly tapped into one of my air bag wires when i was putting a remote start on and it triggered the light.
