Just use an older style TB and BCM. Still cheaper than the Edit crap. Apparently they still haven't worked it out. Ripped427 sayed he routinely has to have his 03 flashed after Edit craps out (he is using the in truck beta).
The dealer does a complete reflash when they add your VIN. Basically, they just upload your VIN and complete tune onto the PCM and it doesn't matter what was on there before.

yea, i could do that, if i did that i would probably use the 6.0 computer and harness and go ahead and buy the ls1edit but not the speartech tranny stuff.
right now i am thinking the most expensive way would be the safest(most likely to work), 4.8 computer, new ls1edit license, spertech tranny stuff and spertech benchtop programer(if i cant wait for the intruck version) thats like $500 but i would rather go with what i am sure(prety sure anyways) will work.
did you have any problems with the benchtop programer on your 03?

Benchtop works great, just not as convenient. I did have to take the PCM to the dealer to get it reflashed after I tried a beta version of Edit that KenK said would work. Funny thing is, I took the benchtop cable and the PCM to the dealer, and they hooked the Tech2 right up and fixed the issue without the truck being there.

If you are going to stick with the 03 version of edit, get the PCM from your 03 programmed with the VIN and tuning for a 2003 HD truck with 6.0 and 4L80. Then use Edit to attach to that VIN number, not your current 4.8 VIN.
