Advice on truck upgrades
#11
IMO, the lower the better. Belltech is a good kit to go with. Probably springs, shackles, and hangers. Should look and ride good.
My truck right now is running ~2/4 drop. Its got 2" hotchkis drop springs in front. And 2" drop shackles in the back, with a leaf spring removed. 28" tires in the front, 29" tires in the rear. Probably went too short with the 28". Just didn't want to run a 10" wide tire up front. Going to add a knuckle up front and put my hangers on the rear. I added a pic.
I wouldn't say 4.8s and 5.3s are a waste of time. All depends on budget and goals, as mentioned earlier. I say get the stall converter and the tune first. Those two mods offer a huge bang for the buck. Then think about cams, heads, engine swaps, or forced induction.

[QUOTE=thegarrettgoines;5170559]It is a waste of time to throw boltons at and expect anything out of. I dont know what your goals are but if you want it to scoot without dumping 3k into it, swap it. 5.3's are alright but if your there you may as well get your moneys worth.[/QUOTE
I have a 5.3 im the garage...so you think I should swap it also ita an 03 also

I like roll pans for the most part, but on one hand, I like the functionality and protection of a stock bumper.
I've had the idea of maybe chopping the mounts and trimming the bumper to fit it tighter against the body, but that's a lot of work for little results.
If you absolutely want a rollpan though, get yourself one that can fit a rear hitch, then use a tow ball or plate in the hitch to protect yourself a little during a rear end collision.
