Default Adding a heater control valve to a 2003 ?

In the summer I would like to be able to stop hot coolant from circulating thru my heater core. Has anyone ever added a valve that would allow the coolant to circulate thru the valve, and then back into the engine? If you've done this or have an idea how I might be able to do it, I would appreciate your thoughts on it. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Just make a bypass out brass parts from Home Depot. I'm lost on why this matters...

I may do that. It matters to me because I see no upside to having 200 degree coolant circulating thru a heat exchanger inside your cab when it's already 100 degrees outside.

And the question remains: Has anyone ever added a valve that would allow the coolant to circulate thru the valve, and then back into the engine?

Just google "Manual Heater core bypass valve" and then click the images tab to see what type you want to run.

They have fully manual, vacuum actuated, electronic. Depends how crazy you want to get. Some are generic and others are meant for a make and model that you would have to adapt.

At least if you install a valve and then you only have to bleed it once instead of installing a single bypass hose or barb to loop the system.

Thank you LJ93Z28GM. I appreciate the help. Would you or anyone else on the board happen to know the size of the heater hoses? Thanks again.
