if you are rear ended and found not at fault and the person who hit you has coverage, then you should get full replacement of all the damaged parts. Call your insurance co. asap.

My insurance company does not cover aftermarket modifications unless I provide a receipt showing proof of purchase, and pictures before and after. I don't take pictures after a modification for insurance purposes but usually just a "show and tell" pic for the forums, those typically suffice.

Dig up your receipts for your mods and bring those to your insurance agent.

Lots and lots of pictures and paperwork, the more proof you have of what is/was done to the vehicle, the more likely you will be compensated for the modifications. Honesly though, don't expect 100%, they're all kinds of excuses and they'll start tearing your case apart by saying that your mods were safety issues and the like.

Thanks guy's. It was the other girls fault totaly. Just was wondering what to expect when he comes out to look at it this week. I really don't think I need pictures of them as they are still on the truck just not in their exact place! Her s-10 blazer looked as if it hit a telephone pole tho.... I ended up driving the truck home. Thanks again people. Mike

Mike, a buddy of mine has been hit twice.
Damaged his roll pan and bed side, his truck was put back exactly like it was prior to the wreck. No need for before pics. You can obviously see a damaged roll pan proving that it was on the vehicle before the wreck.

Just curious, could the insurance company be a stone cold piece of salami and say something like "We are only covering 75% of the damage because if you would have a factory rear bumper in place, the bed wouldn't have gotten so damaged"??

Could they? They might try but I'd fight them tooth and nail and it'd cost them more than to just pay the claim. I have fought ins co's so many times....

some insurane companies that have replaced the aftermarket items know it is cheaper than replacing stock pieces, you almost always can get a roll pan instead of a bumper becuase of the replacement cost. just like you can get a cowl hood instead of a stock hood becuase its cheaper if the adjustor is a nice person talk to them about getting those aftermarket pieces instead of stock it will save the ins. company money they usually like that.

The adjuster is coming out this week so I'll see. I had a fiberglass pan on but now want to go metal and have it welded in and possibly want to change my exhaust tips so I don't know what he'll say to that. I don't know if I want to stay with the LED's or not, got the stock ones downstairs.
