Default AC light blinks at times

My 2002 yukon Denali at times AC won't work. The AC light blinks but won't kick on. If I turn the ignition switch off and restart the truck it lights up and AC works. Sometimes when driving the lights goes off and AC stops working, and if I push the AC switch it just blinks and turns of, however at times it comes on all of sudden. Could this be a bad AC switch?.

Was told therevis a sensor located behind the front passenger headlight. I guess this sensor picks up the temperature outside and somtimes go faulty. Going order one and see if this corret the issue. Anyone replace this sensor before. We recharged the AC, topped off coolant fluid and still same issue, hopefully this sensor will do it.
