Default abs & parking brake light

has anyone had both the abs and parking break light come on simultaneously (sp) while driving down the road. i called a dealership and they said it may be a speed sensor. i also checked it with a scanner but no codes came up. any help or ideas are appreciated.

It's the ebcm(electronic brake control module) pull the fuse on it or it will drain your battery because the pump will stay running. It's actually very common, depending on your year and mileage your local dealer might be able to help you out under the goodwill program which allows the service manager with approval to replace out of warranty parts when there is a known problem with said part. It helps to have a good relationship with your local dealer.

Not all the time but most of the time if it's the ebcm the pump will remain running. Yours is probably a wheel speed sensor. I meant to include the question of do you hear the pump running? I've had mine replaced twice once at 38k and again at 46k. We used to replace several ebcm every week at dealer I was at. It's much more common than a speed sensor but both can cause the same lights on the dash. As for checking the code you need a tech2 with the ability to scan codes set by the abs system, not just the ecm.

I would imagine it would only run while your truck is running or actually moving so you might not hear it...

if he did a search this topics been covered a few times, could be the ebcm, wheel speed sensors, abs sensors, or In my case the ground wires on the drives side cab mount were corroded, clean them up and all was fixed
