Default 80/100 watt xenon headlight bulbs?

I was just looking at some 9005/9006 xenon ultimate white bulbs on e-bay. I guess the factory ones are 55/65 watt and these are 80/100. That should change the amp draw from about 8/9.5 up to around 11.6/14.5. I've read where some of these bulbs could melt your wiring and was wondering if anyone here has tried them or has heard anything about them. Thanks...

Nah, you should be fine with those. The problem was 50 watt plug bulbs in the fog lights. Jason Pendlum melted his stock fogs when he did that. Lesson learned. No higher than 35w for those. I ran 85w lows in my truck till one went out. Cheap bulbs don't last.

I'm running 100 watt bulbs in the High and low beams with no problems.

i replaced my fog lamp bulbs with 50 watt bulbs, and the fog lamps started to melt. they are not designed for the high heat produced by higher wattage bulbs. luckilly, i put the stock bulbs back in it and had it replaced under warranty.

I replaced my Headlamps with 80/100w Hyper brand bulbs and have had no problems with them for over a year. I would suggest the Eaglelites from midnightmoose.com. I have those in my driving lights and they are a bit whiter (less blue tint) than my headlamps.

As for the factory fog light bulb change... I melted mine with the 35W bulbs, soo.... use them at you own discression. I replaced them with some Hella FF75s and they have much better light dispursion and I dont have to worry about them melting.

Thanks for the help fellas. I don't have the fog lights under the front yet. But I have ordered some of the Xtreme white bulbs from tbyrne. They use 65 watts but the output is equal to something like 110 watts. The ol lady about had a fit when I told her they cost $60 for each set of two and since I got highs and lows for my truck and her car it was $250 for light bulbs.
