Speaking of the never dying 4.8 vs 5.3 contest, I raced a 2001 scsb 5.3 with duals flows, fipk, ported throttle body, and 20 inch rims, my mods are as you see.

 

i've raced 5.3s in the 1/8 and if i cut a light on 'em, they cant catch me. but my top end sucks on the 1/4. so they normally get about a truck length or so on me

99 chevy,4.8 scsb,3.73 factory posi,hypertech,180 t-stat,cat-back,tbody spacer,intake.

 

this was a race from 0-80mph...and I was pullin on him the whole way

 

Those 4.10's and 3000 stall of yours helped you out and his 20's hurt him REALLY bad.

 

Yup. Those are some MAJOR factors there.

The few 5.3's ive taken in the quarter always catch and pass me eventually......course I havent raced any now that i'm not stock.

 

But he had a regular cab with a 5.3. I thought they were unbeatable!

 

Not from where I was sitting...it was just a good day for the Regency, what can I say...and he was extremely confused when he heard my truck bark 2nd gear he said...
