No hes right... 95 was OBD2. 96 was the intro of vortec.

And that RPM range is for a 350, not a 427. Trust me you need more cam.

BMW had OBD2 cars in 95

Heavy duty (3/4-1T+ trucks) didnt get OBD2 until 98 in some cases

Listen to these guys on the cam choice. Big cubes want big air. Lots of chamber to fill, and you need some lift and duration to ensure the air gets in and out. Lesson learned; I didnt listen to these guys and I put an LS9 cam in my truck, even advanced it 4 degrees, still hated it. Listened to these guys and put a 212/218 112 .550/.550 in and never loved it more.

Dont reinvent the wheel. Someone has run the combo you want to and has changed it, I can promise that.

For that tire size I suggest 4.56s. At least 4.10s. They will be easier on the trans too

Thats not significantly bigger than what you suggested first time. However. I am not a cam guy at all.

Things these guys will want to know:

Weight of the truck
Intended use
Stall speed and trans config
Tire size/gear (be realistic)
Expectation (fat low end, no low end, all midrange, etc)
Power adder (again, be realistic)
