Default 4.8 to 5.3 motor swap

hey guys im new on this site and any help/info is MUCH appreciated. i have 2004 chevy silverado with a 4.8 in it. im looking to do a motor swap to a 2006 5.3. what all do i need to know since im changing the size of the motor and the year? thanks again in advance

I just did a 4.8 to 5.3 swap but stayed with the same year engine. It was pretty straightforward. Worst part was unhooking and hooking up all those wires and accessories. I did buy a power steering pulley puller and installer tool,without one would have sucked.

alright guys thank yall very much. really the main part i was worried about was the electronics. so i can use the same computer and harness and just get it tuned?

yes, everything is plug and play. get a custom tune from the one of the site sponsors or a good local tuner and you'll be good to go. it will run on the stock 4.8L tune but you will definitely want it tuned properly before you go too far.

believe me i would love that but its my daily driver. i mean i race it here and there on the road but nothing serious. if it was a toy truck i would drop that in there for sure!
