4.3L Forums

Try this one: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/index.php Click on the Chevy Blazer section. This is where most of the 4.3L stuff is posted. It is geared more toward maintenance, than performance. You should also check out the Syclone/Typhoon website for 4.3 tech.

I tried to get one going on here, but was told they dont have anything to do with our trucks, even though the 4.3 is standard equiptment. Instead we have forums for LT1's because they are "simular to the newer F-bodys", D-max's, 8.1's, even 67' to present F-bodys. And dont forget those awsomely powerful Northstar Caddys that have the fact there made by GM in common with LS1's.
Anyway, not to rag on the mods for whats still a great site. The only forum with any half assed performance info on 4.3's is S10Forum.com. Check out the "262 V6" portion. Its not great but its all we got.

Thanks Snake.
Would you mind if I throw you some pm's about the 4.3 from time to time? Doin a few things for a buddy w/ a blazer.
btw. is the 4.3 V6 not similar at all to the ls1. what is so different besides the lack of 2 cylinders? Not being a smart ***. I would just like to know.

I have to say something to that note, there are a couple of different models of the 4.3. There is the odd fire, and the even fire - one has the balance shaft above the Cam, the other doesn't. Then there is the "baby" lt1 that is a 4.3 liter v8 that is found in Buick Roadmasters and Caprice cars. I've built a 4.3 for my brother's 94 Sonoma, I had to go through the pain of finding out alot of this stuff on my own. Yes in theory the V6 4.3 is a 350 minus 2 cylinders, but try to put an exhaust gasket from a 350 up to a 4.3. You'd think all you would have to do is chop off the end port, but it doesn't work, there is more seperation between the paired ports than on a V8. I kept telling my brother to put off on getting 4.3 headers because I would just modify a set of shorty V8 headers I had. It didn't take too long before I figured out it wasn't going to work. One good thing for the 4.3 is that it shares all of the accessories, you can use the V8 water pump, power steering brackets, alternator brackets, everything, and if you're wanting to delete the smog pump and AC - just find 350 brackets from something that didn't have it, it'll work.
Basically everything we did to this 4.3 came from Edelbrock, or at least is an Edelbrock product bought on Ebay. I picked up a mild Edelbrock roller cam, intake, carb, headers, and valve covers all off Ebay. The rebuild kit came from Ebay as well with the upgraded HyperEutectic pistons.

You can be mad at them for it, but either way the site belongs to them, not the members.
