Just got done looking at the 2009 Ram videos on acceleration on the dodge site. For some reason they didnt run it against a Titan or a Tundra??? The vortec max it was running against was right on his *** (front bumper was at his driver door). I think someone should tune that Vmax up and then run them again. Then the then they could only compare the Ram with the Ford.

yeah but dig through dodges comparison lists and you will find that every truck on that they compare it against has a greater tow rating and would probably out tow the ram. thats if their tranny will hold up to what they say it will do...

Of course their truck will win!

They didn't run it against the Denail in the 0-60 or 1/4 mile!

I bet they just stuck VortecMax badges on a 5.3L truck! I didn't notice the slot in the front bumper that the Chevy V-max's and LTZ 6.2l trucks have BTW, It was hard to tell through with a black truck.

Tuning isnt the ONLY reason these trucks are doggish before 4000rpms. The larger cams and huge intake ports have something to do with it too. Tuning does have something to do with at well.
Tuning also helps these powertrains survive, drop all the TM and abuse modes and durability isnt as great.

So I was wondering, will the 6L80E transmission will work and fit in my 2005 chevy crew cab, 5.3 engine with little or no mod?

You just resurrected a 3.5-year-old thread to ask a question almost completely unrelated to the topic of said thread. The 2005 (GMT800) is not the same generation chassis as the 2007+ (GMT900), so what made you choose to bring this up in a 2009 VortecMax thread???
