2008 silverado vortec max eats lifters
#13
Someone needs to check the lifter bores too. If they're ate up the lifter is walking around which would cause a misfire too. I've seen a lifter bore sleeved before but the dealership will likely replace the block or shortblock. I'd assume the camshaft is hurt as well.

I'm having an issue with my 6.2 right now, sounds like a diesel at idle and dealer says it's normal for an engine with 2k miles to sound like that. I have come to the conclusion that if it gets any louder they will replace the engine. By the time I take it back to them it will look like a grenade went off in the oil pan. if I were you, i'd see to it they have to replace the engine.

If you've still got plenty of warranty left to where they couldn't possibly try to dispute it, just blow it up. I have no idea why people will fight tooth and nail to try and preserve something so it can be rebuilt/repaired under warranty. If you kill it bad enough they will do a cost vs replacement analysis and you will get a new engine. No butting heads with GM, no going to the dealer and getting all bent out of shape, just kill it and get a new one. As many times as your engine has been apart now I wouldn't trust it to make a walmart run if I were you.
