Default 2007/2008 Extended Cab SHORT box

I am looking to purchase either a 2007 or 2008 (new body style) extended cab Silverado with the short (69.3") box. Preferences include black exterior, black leather bucket seats, 2WD, and tow package. I plan to install a 525+ hp engine (my profession is building late model GM racing engines) in the truck.

If anyone has photos showing the side profile of the extended cab short box I would greatly appreciate their posting.

I agree! For my truck I'm planning on doing a pre-runner style with large diameter (35" to 37") tires for off-road excursions!

If anyone has pix of this style [short (69.3") box extended cab new (not classic) style] I'd like see them. The short box is the same box often seen on the crew cab trucks and can be differentiated by the location of the gas filler door - it's in the raised portion of the fender around the wheelwell opening instead of forward of the raised portion as in the standard and long bed trucks.

Also, info on the availability of pre-runner style fender, bumper, etc. for the new Silverado would be much appreciated.

Default Is 2007/08 Chevrolet Silverado Brochure correct????

Jerry,

I'm pretty sure I saw a short (69.3") box, extended cab truck on the road in Phoenix a few weeks ago. And the Silverado brochure I picked up at my local Chevy dealer say's the short box is an option for the extended cab version. But I haven't been able to find a photo of a truck built this way. Does anyone have a photo proving that the short box, extended cab exists??? I would really like to have this truck and will be disappointed if it's not an option.

They are available, I had to double check because I thought they were discontinued as well, but found this info:

2WD Extended Cab Short Box (CC10553)
4x4 Extended Cab Short Box (CK10553)
2WD Extended Cab Standard Box (CC10753)
4x4 Extended Cab Standard Box (CK10753)
2WD Extended Cab Long Box (CC10953)
4x4 Extended Cab Long Box (CK10953)

Haven't seen one on a lot though or any pics of one. Went to gmbuypower.com and found a few in Texas.

Thanks for the replies.

Neil 6.0 - how can I find the vehicles you listed? I went to gmbuypower.com but wasn't sure how access the vehicles.

LMSeven - thanks, but the 2500 truck is a standard bed, the short bed has the raised portion of the fender very close to the truck cab. I guess these are rare.

Look in the NNBS section.... There is a thread named "VMAX in a extended cab short bed?" . On page 3, someone posted a link to a couple pics of one.... Looks awesome

Pre-runner eh? I remember a thread on GMfullsize about them. I'll see if I can find it cuz they had some pretty cool trucks in there.
