There is a place out here that does 4x4 conversions and other mods, they put Full floaters in them. I guess they get them from the trucks.

So you mean no as in no performance stuff such as limited slips ?

A few sticks of 7018 will make it posi
Basically what ever it had from the factory is all they have. I believe there was an aftermarket posi but it was retardedly expensive from what I remember. Almost as much as a Full Floater through a Yard or another shop. Spoolin wanted a locker but there wasn't one that I recall.

I have seen 14 bolt full floaters pop up in my area from $250-$500 complete. Some 10.5's and a few 11.5's

For anyone else with a Van that may come across this. Here is the thread about Spolin's rear end delima. https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...-super-525246/

Looks like the D-max van has an oddball Super 70 Dana.

Made time today to get the engine torn down. Was throwing a misfire code/CEL. I was unable to determine the issue, leak down test pointed to a burned valve but I don't see any signs of that. Could an intake leak cause this, although all bolts were tight and no obvious streaking of gasket. Plenty of tar inside the intake and ports.

A misfire is either lack of fuel, lack of spark, or lack of compression.

It could be plugs, wires, injector, wiring issue, bad ECU, Bad 02 Sensor's, bad MAF sensor, Bad fuel, Weak or broken spring, bad valve, Build up in seat area on the valve, The list goes on and on.....

The one on the right doesn't look like right based on the burn pattern around the valve compared to the other cylinders.

How crazy would it be to rebuild and surface these 5.3 heads .030 and do some minor porting/matching rather than messing with the 243 heads just trying to get to my stock compression on the 5.3. I am using the truck intake and don't need power past 5500-6k. I will be installing new cam and lifters as well with stock manifolds. What head gasket height should I use. I'll then just save the 243's for the 6.0 build.

The 5.3 heads are just fine. Make sure you have them inspected first to make sure they are not cracked before you invest any money in them.

Richard @ West Coast Cylinder Heads had a nice stage 2 program for the 5.3 head. It was $898 with exchange or if you sent your cores in to be worked on.

Default Cam help

Ok, cutting the stock heads .035 and doing a valve job. Going to use tech line ceramic coatings on the entire build (excluding short block), chambers, valves, rockers, exhaust manifolds, ported and coated the oil pump and heat dispersant on the covers. I port matched the intake and ported the throttle body.
I have new lifters and buckets, chain and catch can coming from SDPP. Would like to stick with ls6 springs and I need help picking a cam. Is the 212/218 a good choice or should I bump it up? I am not totally against dropping in a stall. I would like to get this ordered in the morning so they have time to cut it if needed.
