I am looking for a work truck and this guy has a 03 v6 Trailblazer with 280K. The trans is good and the maintenance was spot on, from what the guy says. The thing is, it wont do over 40mph.

What could be the issue?

Thats a loaded question, especially with it being a trailblazer...is there a check engine light or anything... How does it start, idle and shift up to 40???

 

V6? Probably an I6. Possible plugged/restricted catalytic converter?

 

Unless being an 03 its one of the old body style s10 blazers that had the "trailblazer" package on it and has a 4.3...
