Pull the springs. Put on stock springs and install 2" spindles. That's the best setup for a 2" drop. Keeps geometry and keeps the shock operating in the stock range. Don't have to buy special shocks or alignment kits. Keeps the stock spring rate and gives you that ride you are used to. No need to trim bump stops either to maintain that good ride. There is not better way to do all of those things.
Yes there are other ways to do it yes it can be done but the easiest all around for just a 2" and to keep ride and adjustments is to run only a 2" spindle.
That being said, a spindle should be part of the overall package in the front when dropping it 2" or more in my opinion.
That wasn't a sales pitch, but I do have some mcgaughy spindles in my garage I need to get rid of for 99-07 trucks if any of you guys need set or know someone that is, I'm gonna clean out my garage this weekend and those are one of the things that need to go.
