Default 2 question: New Brakes and a clucking noise

these are separate questions.
I need new brakes and I was thinking about going with DBA 4000 slotted rotors and stock gm pads, any thoughts? I currently have power slots or ssbc rotors and ebc green pads and I am not happy at all with the performance. It is very poor.

In full lock after moving a short distance I get a loud clunking noise. I also get it when making a fast left hand corner (like going under the freeway onto the frontage road) It also happens sometimes (not regulalry) while pulling out of the driveway (which has a bump at the bottom). someone suggested it may be the cv axle. recently replaced the tie rod ends, so i don't think it is that, unless i got a bad one.

I recommend going with tahoe rear calipers and rotors and going with 05+ front calipers and rotors. All OEM.

Check the swaybar bushings & end links. Look @ shock mount rubbers too!

The clunking cud be the rear end...mine did it when the ring/pinion went. It was really noticeable when I reversed and turned...clunk, clunk was the locker not releasing. Also happens without the additive in the fluid. U can feel it thru the drivetrain. I also had CV joint wear out and it had some similar noises and bumps, but it was more a grinding, rubbing sloppy feeling. Check both...CV's are pretty simple and cheap to fix (maybe $125 for both with core exchange).

Yep, bolt up. Tahoe rear rotors are thicker, and use dual piston calipers. You must get the caliper brackets as well to make it bolt and go.

Sounds dumb, but check your caliper bracket bolts. I see them come loose on a pretty regular basis after a brake job has been done. Sometimes they fall out and go missing all together. I'm no sure if they aren't getting torqued down enough or if the thread locker has just worn off.

Coban, whats the deal with the 05 fronts?

I checked the sway bars and shocks (new) and they were fine, i replaced the end links as soon as i bought the truck with the poly ones and they still look good. If i grab the drivers cv axle, it moves some and makes noise. if i do the same to the other side it moves less and while it makes a noise it is much quieter.
I know the rear pinion going into to transmission is the old design that clunks, but i herd the new design only fixes it for a short while.

Jack the side up with the most noise (with it in 4wd) & try to turn the tire. Sounds like it a broke cv joint

Dual piston PBR calipers, and 1" larger rotors for the 05+ front brakes.
