Default 1st time @ track w/ rcsb 5.3l

Well i was pretty happy with my first run at the track. ran a 15.78 at 86 and 2.44 60ft. All i have is a k&n, homemade cold air, and single flowmaster. ran it with 50lbs stereo equipment, spare tire, jack, and tailgate up. we wont talk about my reaction time oh yeah, time would have been even better but felt like torque converter locked up going into 3rd and truck just laid down about 50ft before the finish. oh well, i'll get some tuning and fix that problem. temp was probably in low 60's. is this about what most people run at the track with what i have?

My 2000 rcsb 5.3 3.73 g80 ran 15.50's stock with no tailgate and a K&N drop-in filter. The 3.73 G80 probably helped, I think my 60ft's were .10 quicker.

I have ben unable to make it to the track but was wondering what do you think I would run I am stock except for my exhaust. I have a 1999 Regular cab stepside with 5.3L.

I was thinking like .2-.3 fatser than the fleetside guys. so around the low 15s but would like some input,

Sorry for the highjack

That's not bad. I know I didn't get to keep up with all the guys as much as I would have liked to. That's pretty good considering all the stuff you had in there though.

yeah flyer you got to see that i didnt exactly clean out the truck before i came. actually, most of it was just a bunch of "just in case" fluids and a couple tools. you never know what might happen. thanks for the pods btw. guess i know what that little bit of money will go towards

LOL .. I'm going to take the pieces of the driveshaft to the shop that did the work on it and tell him that he damn near killed me. I expressed concerns about it being balanced and he assured me it would be OK since he uses them on his 10 second car.

Don't worry about the extra stuff. You can never be to prepared. My truck still had a bunch of reciepts and stuff in it. I had a few CD's and a bunch of junk in the console, as well as the glove box. Only thing I forgot was a tow strap. I think I'm going to look for a car hauler trailer though instead.

ohohsilverado: It took a K&N FIPK, Dual Flowmasters, and a JET chip to run a 15.78 @ 86 mph in my truck. And that was in 40-something degree weather @ Red River Raceway. Your truck pulls hard, it was nice running against ya!
