Hey all, I have finally decided to do some stuff to my 06 Silverado with a 4.8. I have decided that as soon as possible I would like to install: headers & exhaust, a tune from Black Bear and 4.10 gears. I only have a CAI now. I was Just wondering how much could I expect to gain with those mods? A little bit in the future ( spring or summer of 2015) I plan on installing a new cam to top it off. Any advice or recommendations? Sorry if this has already been asked; I searched and couldn't find the exact answer I am looking for.

 

Anyone able to give some input or have I messed up and put this in the wrong section?

 

Well in my 06 single cab sierra, 4.8, I threw long tubes, 3k stall, and texas-speed 220r cam in. I put down 302rwhp, 288rwtq tuned. I ran a best of 14.5 at 95mph, w/ a shitty 2.3 60ft. That's with 4.10 gears and an auburn diff and 265/35-22s. Its still slow as dog ****. So I decided to go single turbo.

 

I was looking at the 220r it seems to be pretty good choice for a 4.8. Another thing I was wondering, how long could I run the headers and 4.10 gears without a tune? I was wanting to buy and install the headers sometime here in the next few weeks and then get the gears and then after I get the gears, get the tune. Would it hurt anything to do that?

 

with 4.10's and tune yer gonna notice a difference night and day, like snappy. Start with that then go from there, we all seem to start on this slippery slope and B4 ya know it yer mortgaging the house for parts................
