02 chevy grille
ok i'm finally going to fill those two big holes i have in the front.
i am debating b/n billet or a speed grille. i have a couple questions:
1)who makes a good quality billet grille that isn't bolt-over style
2)could i install the speed grille without my stock insert? the stock insert has been taken out and putting it back in is not an option. would the speed grille be rigid and sturdy without the stock insert or will it just bend and dent up?
3)i realize it would be easy to get past both of them but between billet or the speed grille which one is gunna keep people's fingers away from my hood latch?
thanx for any help guys

Re: 02 chevy grille
i'd check stylin concepts for the billet insert.
i had a speed scene grille on my chevy, but it went over the stock insert and used to stock insert to reinforce it. it may however push in.
i got into a wreck with the front end, and all the clips fell out, so i pushed it into the grille openings and then flattened it with the rubber handle of a hammer, you could yank them out, but not too easily. not sure how great they'd do without the stock inserts.
now as far as the hood latch, the holes on the speed grille are very small, i dont think an adult finger would fit into it at all.
maybe hiho's peepee. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I got the one from Blackbeauty. It is a Speed grille. I used some zip ties to hold it to the stock insert. It is practically impossible to get scissors thru the holes to remove it. You could get one and drill small holes in the grill shell to zip tie it to since you cut it already.
